The challenge of this hotel design for Amsterdam's Fletcher Hotel is mainly due to the fact that the building is round. The round shapes in both the reception desk and the bar in the restaurant show the designer's vision of luxury, warmth and homeliness. The design of the restaurant in this striking building proved the breakthrough for Robert Kolenik.
For the interior design of Publique, Robert Kolenik choise for a warm copper as a base of his colour palette. This is the most important colour in the big stained glasses of the restaurant and creates the feeling of peace and unity. The home-made glow of red copper comes back in the rugged open kitchen and also suits the warm and luxurious appearance of the illuminated 'stone' back wall of the bar.
