An advantage of mirror acrylic is that it does not break as quickly as normal mirrors. In fact, it is technically unbreakable. Another advantage over normal mirrors is that it is a lot lighter in weight and easy to fabricate. Mirrored plexiglass has hardly any thickness tolerance. Primo XT mirror acrylic cannot be applied outside, because the coating of the end face may corrode. The mirror coating is very vulnerable. As such, one should not apply any kind of tape to the mirror’s surface, even if it’s temporary. Removing the tape will damage the coating.
The Primo XT mirror acrylic (Plexiglass®/pmma) is 25 times stronger than glass and is on stock in 11 different colours in a thickness of 3mm. Mirror acrylic is light weight, rigid, practically unbreakable and barely knows any thickness tolerance.
PyraSied is having 11 different mirror colours of XT acrylic sheets on stock in 3mm with a gloss/mirror surface. You can order this material cut to size, per full sheet or you can compose your own mix-pallet with various colours.

Primo XT mirror acrylic cannot be applied outside, because the coating of the end face may corrode. Mirror acrylic is slightly flexible and must be attached to a flat surface for a good result. This is due to the reflection. If this is not done properly, you will get a distorting mirror. In addition, the larger the surface of the mirror sheet, the greater the distortion effect. Keep this in mind. It is possible to attach the mirror with mirror holders, with spacers or with a kit on the wall (you can only do this once, when removing the mirror the mirror film will be damaged).

Acrylic (pmma) is the plastic that is also known as Plexiglass®. Our own brand of acrylic is called Versato®. Acrylic is in the basis 40% colourless, light weight, rigid, practically unbreakable, easy to fabricate and is therefore better than glass in some respects. Acrylic is weather proof, UV stable and does not yellow.
There are two main types of acrylic, cast (GS) and extruded (XT) acrylic. An advantage of cast acrylic is that it is easy to produce in small quantities, which offers flexibility. Extruded acrylic has the advantage that it hardly knows any thickness tolerance.
Acrylic is optically more pure than polycarbonate. Polycarbonate, on the other hand, is much more impact-resistant than acrylic, but yellows faster.
No, mirror acrylic is slightly flexible and must be attached to a flat surface for a good result. This is due to the reflection. If this is not done properly, you will get a distorting mirror (funhouse mirror).
In addition, the larger the surface of the mirror sheet, the greater the distortion effect. Keep this in mind.
