The PyraLed®4 Greencast® gloss/satin 3mm is the first diffuser that is made from 100% recycled waste and can be fully recycled again. It has the same excellent material properties and the same price as regular acrylic, making it a smart and sustainable choice.
The PyraLed®4 Greencast® gloss/satin 3mm has a one sided gloss and a one sided satin surface. The diffuser is 3mm thick and with a diffusivity of 0.76 it spreads the light well on a short distance from the light source. Diffusivity is a score that refers to how well the diffuser scatters the light. Because of the high diffusity, the distance factor is just 1.3. This means that the distance between the diffuser and the leds needs to be 1.3 times larger than the distance between the led strips or led button cells themselves to get a nice and diffuse light result. The light transmission of the PyraLed®4 Greencast® 3mm is 55%. The light transmission refers to the amount of light that comes through the diffuser. It is measured on the other side of the light diffuser than where the light source is positioned.
We continue to broaden our collection of Greencast® sheets. Greencast® is cast acrylic, 100% made from pre- and post-consumer acrylic. It can’t be distinguished from regular cast acrylic and has the same excellent material properties. Because the PyraLed®4 is one of our most popular light diffusers, we have developed a Greencast® variance of this sheet. The light technical properties are the same as the PyraLed®4 from regular cast acrylic.
The PyraLed®4 Greencast® diffuser is part of our collection with professional diffusers. With the help of extremely precise process control and the use of nano additives, the professional diffusers are more efficient than standard diffusers. They offer a higher light transmission with the same diffusivity or a higher level of diffusivity with the same light transmission. The light transmission is a measurement of the amount of light transmitted. The diffusivity refers to to how well a diffuser scatters the light. A diffuser that has a higher score on the variable ‘efficiency’ performs better. An efficient diffuser is more expensive to purchase, but earns itself back by saving energy of increasing the light output.
The PyraLed®4 Greencast® is made from cast acrylic. Light diffusers from cast acrylic have the best light technical properties and are optically clear, UV-stable and colourfast. Because of this, the diffusers can be used inside and outside and the colour will not be influenced by the sun. The fire classification of cast acrylic is E according to fire norm EN 13501. This is the European (EU) classification.
Cast acrylic can be produced in smaller batches relatively easy. This allows us to offer the broadest collection of thicknesses and types in cast acrylic.
The PyraLed®4 Greencast® with a one-sided gloss surface and a one-sided satin surface in 3mm thickness in stock in sheet size 3050mm x 2030mm. If you need a smaller size for your application, we gladly offer material cut to size.
If you are looking for a diffuser that offers a high diffusivity and can be placed close to the light source, the PyraLed®4 Greencast® is a great choice. And since cast acrylic has the best light technical properties of all light diffusers, you can apply the PyraLed®4 Greencast® in many situations. You can apply the 3mm thick version of the PyraLed®4 Greencast® with a one-sided gloss surface and a one-sided satin surface for barfronts, signage, decors, displays and other esthetic applications. You can use both the gloss and the satin side. Because cast acrylic is UV stable and the colour is not affected by sunlight, you can safely apply it inside and outside.
For constructive applications like floors, walls and full bars and desks, you need a thicker diffuser, like the PyraLed®3 10mm satin/satin.
Are you looking for a diffuser that transfers more light? Then the PyraLed® OPY2 satin/satin 3mm might be the right choice for you. This diffuser is developed with the goal of achieving the highest possible light transmission. You will keep more of the emitted light of the light source after applying the diffuser.
Cast acrylic has thickness tolerance, making it less suitable for the use in light fixtures and profiles. Extruded acrylic (XT) has minimum thickness tolerance, making it a perfect match for these applications. The PyraLed® YT275 matte/gloss is an excellent alternative in XT, offering a light transmission of 81%.
