Primo® XT Solid black acrylic is in stock in 2, 3 and 4mm thick. The advantage of extruded (XT) acrylic (also known as plexiglass) is that it has hardly any thickness tolerance. Ideal for applications where the material has to be set up in a profile or frame. Because XT acrylic is produced in large quantities, it is relatively slightly cheaper than cast acrylic, but we also have fewer different thicknesses in stock. We also have solid white and black in stock in cast acrylic up to 20mm thick.
Primo® XT Solid black acrylic is available from stock in 2, 3 and 4mm thick. The maximum sheet size of black XT is 3050x2050mm. This material can be ordered cut-to-size through our webshop. If you are looking for thicker opaque white or opaque black acrylic, we have cast acrylic in stock up to 20mm thick.
Black plexiglass can be used for many different applications such as awards, signage, decors, displays, maquettes and wall cladding for example. For inspiration, you can take a look at our Acrylic Community. Here you can find several applications with acrylic.
XT black acrylic is easy to fabricate. The possible fabrications are sawing, milling, laser-cutting, warm bending, bonding, drilling, faceting, polishing, matting and printing. For more information about fabricating acrylic, you can go to our fabrication page.
Well-known brand names for acrylic (pmma) are PLEXIGLAS®, Versato®, Altuglas® and Astariglas®. Our own brand name for XT acrylic is Primo®.

Acrylic (pmma) is the plastic that is also known as PLEXIGLAS®. Our own brand of acrylic is called Versato®. Acrylic is in the basis 100% colourless, light weight, rigid, practically unbreakable, easy to fabricate and is therefore better than glass in some respects. Acrylic is weather proof, UV stable and does not yellow.
There are two main types of acrylic, cast and extruded acrylic. An advantage of cast acrylic is that it is easy to produce in small quantities, which offers flexibility. Extruded acrylic has the advantage that it hardly knows any thickness tolerance.
Acrylic is optically more pure than polycarbonate. Polycarbonate, on the other hand, is much more impact-resistant than acrylic, but yellows faster.
Yes, it is possible to order samples of XT acrylic solid in black and white. You have the choice between 50x50 mm samples or an A5 sample. You have only the option to receive a sample of 3mm.
