Primo® XT Satin acrylic tubes (light opal) are made of extruded acrylic, also known as plexiglass. These are light opal tubes with a particularly beautiful satin surface, which ensures that the light in the tube is emitted evenly (diffused). Due to the surface and the light opal effect, this material is often used in combination with light. Namely, the tube has a high light transmission of approximately 80%. This material is optically pure, rigid, strong and easy to work with.
We have acrylic tubes with a satin surface in stock as standard with a diameter of 40 to 250 mm with wall thicknesses of 2 or 3 mm. These tubes can be ordered per full length of 2000mm, this length can be cut to size if desired. With a custom piece, you will receive the remainder of the tube.
* Please note, for cut-to-size tubes, a delivery time of 7 working days applies. Our standard delivery time applies to full-length tubes.
Satin tubes are often used in the lighting industry but are also excellent for decors, displays, machine parts and models. Acrylic tubes are fairly UV stable and weather resistant, but they are not designed for long-term outdoor use. They will eventually yellow. Are you looking for better fire certification or higher impact resistance? Then we recommend using polycarbonate satin tubes, these tubes are also more impact-resistant than acrylic. Do you want to find inspiration for applying this material? Then take a look at our inspiration platform, the Acrylic community.
In addition to material development, stock management and distribution, PyraSied also offers additional machining services. We have been fabricating acrylic for the architecture, retail, lighting and high-tech industry for over 35 years. Acrylic can be fabricated easily by any company or person with some experience in fabricating acrylic. It is possible to saw, mill, hot bend, glue, drill, polish, sanding/matting and lettering this material.

Acrylic is optically more pure than polycarbonate. Polycarbonate, on the other hand, is much more impact-resistant than acrylic, but yellows faster.
