The KLM Crown Lounge is a home for world travelers, a destination in itself, a collection of characteristic spaces inspired by KLM and its Dutch background and local heritage: ‘the Polder’, ‘the Hollandse Berg’, the City, the Sea, the Air.
The quirky design meets the latest technologies and high-quality service requirements. The new lounge design concept fits perfectly with the brand’s strategy and growth potential, as the new lounge is near twice as large – 6,800 m2 with 1,500 seats.
The House of KLM marks the entrance to the new lounge: a two-story Dutch house with a beautiful view over the runway and vice versa. It contains a marble welcome desk that, together with four light ball pendants and a light sculpture in the shape of a cross, forms a gigantic abstraction of the KLM logo – the Crown. The house is accessible via two escalators, surrounded by walls made from a spectacular collection of more than 5,000 of the famous KLM Delft Blue houses (collectibles).
The design for the KLM Crown Lounge was done by Concrete Amsterdam and executed by the Hemlock Group, a company specialized in retail design and interior design. Concrete Amsterdam has used the Faux Translucent Stone collection from PyraSied for the counter and the various round tables.
